Platinum award winning artist Phillip Solomon Stewart, better known as “King P” is back again with another hit, “Slip N Slide“. You may already know King P from his work with Ludacris in the song, “Woozy”, his appearance in the Super Bowl Half Time show with Prince, or even his Kickstarter that went viral and helped pay for his “Good Vibes” music video filmed in Jamaica. King P is known as a Jamaican-rooted Hip Hop artist and multi-instrumentalist residing in Tallahassee, Fl. who delivers an unmatched level of energy through his Dancehall flair.
The new song Slip N Slide is a fun vibrant song with a South Florida Miami feel to it. King P says he was, “just listening to some beats from producer Rockomal of the rap group Suns of Atliens, he played the early stages of this beat and I loved the sound immediately. I wanted to write about LA vibes but the music sounded and felt so Miami. I wrote the 3rd verse and completed the recording of the song in Tallahassee, Florida.” The music video is set to premier Friday May 28, 2021.
King P says he’s loved music since early childhood and has been inspired by all the greats. “I picked up my first instrument at 11 and wanted to perform every chance I could. Since then I’ve picked up multiple instruments and will always acknowledge that I am a musician first”. His music career started around 2009 when a friend of his asked him to record some sax parts onto his music. Not long after and a little bit of pressure from his friend King decided to pursue his dreams and began producing beats. His beats started to get the attention of local artists, and one night he heard his own beat at a local club. After that artists came and went, so King decided he would be the artist himself, “…after listening to beats I made for an artist who disappeared for a few months. Literally, I saw words in the air as I was listening and I jumped up and started writing. At that moment, King P the producer became King P the artist!”
