Tattoo Culture

Tattoos have been around for thousands of years. Dating all the way back to the neolithic time between 10,000 and 4,500 BC. Meaning tattoos have been around since the dawn of civilization, and it doesn’t look like they’re going anywhere.

In modern history we’ve seen a steady transition of acceptance and the culture surrounding tattoos in the music industry. Back in the 1980’s there were rock bands with full sleeve tattoos, and that was shocking then. In the 1990’s it started becoming more common for musicians to have neck tattoos. Fast forward to today, it’s face tattoos. It seems all the new hit rappers right now have a few things in common, their name starts with “lil”, they use autotune, and they have face tattoos.

This trend doesn’t seem to be slowing down either. So is that what it takes to be a famous rapper in today’s world? Is Rap all about the looks, with face tattoos being a requirement? Let us know what you think. Would you get a face tattoo to be a famous rapper? Do you only listen to rappers with face tattoos? Does their name have to start with “lil”?
